Hello and welcome to getting healthy in 2023!

Week 2 is complete. If you're just joining in and would like to fallow along from the beginning, you can check out my first blog New year-new me-new us.

I set out on a new adventure this year to be a healthier me. Of course, I'm daydreaming into the future with my rockin mom bod. " What? You don't believe me that I have 4 kids? I really do!" It's more than just losing my c-section fupa, my thunder thighs, and jigglier than jello arms, I'm working on goals. I have had certain goals since I was in my 20's and this is the year that I'm going to start checking some of those off!

GOAL 1: I absolutely love being a stay-at-home Mom. If you would have told me that pre-children, I would have thought you were crazy but now that I am I know that I cannot go back to work until they are all in school. I am also an entrepreneur at heart. The number of businesses I have tried is crazy but here I am, keep on keeping on and created this blog!

GOAL 2: Stepping out of my protective little bubble. I'm getting out of my comfort zone. If things get a little uncomfortable but I'm making progress whether it be socializing more, promoting my blog, or asking for help, I'm going to do it!

GOAL 3: Eating more nutritious meals. Week 2 was not perfect. I had pizza and jalapeño potato chips, but I also skipped out on the chance to have McDonalds and went home and ate a salad instead. Also, I substituted french fries for carrot sticks. I kept up with my smoothie a day and continued to drink a flip ton of water. Baby steps my friend and I'm proud of it!

GOAL 3: Getting physically fit. Here is the big one people, the big kahuna, the "what on Earth did I get myself into?" I signed up for a half marathon. In 17 weeks, I will be in the race for a 13.1-mile-long haul, and I am so freakin excited about it! I have wanted to do this since before I had kids and I am pumped! I am overweight. I haven't jogged in years, and I am nowhere near ready, but I want you to know that if I can do it, you can too, and anything is possible if you have the right mind set for it. We got this so let's do the darn thing!

I actually gained weight from last week to this week. .7 pounds. Old Jakki would have been upset and disappointed in myself, but you know what? I am good. I know that I am healthier today then I was 2 weeks ago and it's only going to get better from here. Also, even though I gained I measured myself and lost .75 inches so it's progress!

2 weeks down a lifetime to go. starting weight: 189 today: 186

If anyone is feeling inspired to join me, below, I posted my workout routine for the next 15 weeks. From couch to half marathon for the extreme beginners!
