After going to the Doctor insisting my hormones needed checked she suggested collagen to help my hair grow. I didn't take her advice right away. WHY didn't I take her advice right away??? Let me tell you my prayers were answered when I decided to give it a try! Who would have thought that one little change could have saved me years of self-consciousness? Collagen is what my body needed. After seeing results and doing some research I found out that at the age of 20 your body starts to lose collagen. Urg that's 16 years I was missing out on with the combined crazy hormonal fluctuations of pregnancies didn't help, I'm sure. If only 20-year-old Jakki would have known what I now know today. I could have started then, continued even through my pregnancies and it could have helped tremendously with my stretching, then saggy skin!

Below is my before picture and after taking collagen for just a couple months

Holy guacamoles take a look at those baby hairs! What did I use? Well, I'm glad you asked! My favorite is the Vital Proteins Collagen Peptide Powder. I just put a scoop in my morning coffee or a smoothie and I'm good to go. I can't even tell it's in there. Now I can't vouch for you black coffee drinkers, but it blends nicely with my creamer, and it dissolves delightfully well which is very important. Trust me who would want to choke down chunks of gooey powder floaties in your coffee? Gag.

I started taking it for my hair but as a bonus I noticed my skin has a nice glow to it! So, if your battling hair loss like I was give collagen a try. Of course, you should always talk to your health care provider before adding a new supplement, but don't wait like I did and just do the darn thing!

Have you tried collagen to help regrow your hair or what improvements have you seen?

You guys, I am the first to admit that I had a problem, and it was my hairline. I am a 36-year-old woman with some pretty darn thin hair. I'm not the most confident woman in the world but I also don't let a lot of things get to me either, but this did. I figured my hormones were wacked. I went through four pregnancies and my body was doomed. My hair was falling out more than ever before. You know how it goes, the drain gets clogged, and you call the hubby in to fix it and mounds of gloopy hair gets pulled out. Well to avoid him constantly having to fix my shower drainage woes constantly I resorted to sticking my hair globs to the side of the shower walls... all over the walls. I couldn't wear my normal hair do's anymore either. I had to wear the female version of a comb over. I side parted my hair with a low bun and that became my new going out hairstyle
